In my mind, it's always Summer.

Smoothies remind me of Summer! There is just something about a nice cool drink in your hand and having the sun shine on your face -- there is not a better feeling! Summer means longer days and warmer (much warmer) weather and smoothies. But since Summer is taking its sweet, sweet time getting here I have decided to create my own summer inside in the heat! Every time I drink a smoothie I always go to summer in my mind.  This quick, easy and healthy smoothie recipe will make you realize that Summer and happiness are only a thought away!

What You'll Need

1 cup measuring cup
1/4 cup measuring cup
1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon
Honey
Vanilla extract
Milk (I use 1% or 2%)
Plain Greek yogurt (Vanilla is great too!)
Strawberries (Or a fruit of your choice)
Ice cubes
Nutribullet or a blender
Sharp knife

Preparation

Wash strawberries and then cut up into small pieces and measure out 1 cup into measuring cut (I usually use more than 1 cup because I love strawberries and I also sometimes like add a handful of blueberries but it's completely up to you!).

Pour strawberries into nutribullet large cup or into blender.

Measure out 2 cups of milk (I use 1% or 2% whatever is in the house. Not a huge fan of milk so I usually just do 1 cupish and load up on the berries!) Pour milk in with the berries.

Pour a small amount of honey into the mix. I like to use a lot because I love honey.

Measure out 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 plain or vanilla Greek yogurt and pour into mixture.

Grab a handful of ice cubes and place in mixture. I know some people love ice so load up if that is you!

Prepare nutribullet or blender for blending process. I usually leave mine on for about 20 seconds or longer I want to make sure all ingredients are properly blended together. Once done you can drink right from the nutribullet cup (I think it's easier) or pour mixture from blender or nutribullet into a cup of your preference or a pretty glass as pictured above.

Enjoy the sweet taste of Summer all year long!
